Why go there?
A collection of barrier islands three miles off the coast of North Carolina, Cape Lookout National Seashore is a wonderful place for bird-watching, collecting shells and fishing. It's also the first area certified as a Dark Sky Park on the Eastern Atlantic Coast, offering incredible views of the stars at night.
