Why go there?

Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument is a place where the past comes alive - literally. This area is home to a myriad of Ice Age fossils, including those of giant mammoths and sloths. The site also boasts several patches of the rare Las Vegas bear poppy. Because Tule Springs is a fairly new park unit, there are no Visitor Center nor restroom facilities. Please prepare ahead and bring your own snacks and water.
