The ParkSafe Pledge

As an independent video creator, I promise to abide by the following guidelines in filming at U.S. National Parks:


  • I will film video on a small-format camera or smartphone.
  • I will adhere to individual park rules, filming only in areas open to the public unless I have secured separate permissions.
  • I will practice “Leave No Trace” principles, making sure to leave the park with everything I brought in, and avoiding any inappropriate contact with natural and historic artifacts.
  • I will respect wildlife by keeping a safe distance and avoiding any activity that might aggravate them.
  • I will be considerate of others.
  • I will submit my park videos on a non-exclusive basis to the Parks Channel to confirm my adherence to the Pledge.
