The Timpanogos Cave National Monument is a spelunker's paradise. This cave system, located on Mount Timpanogos in American Fork Canyon, offers three distinct caves to explore. The 1.5-mile trail to the caves is steep, but paved and fairly wide, making them accessible to most visitors. The first cave, appropriately named Timpanogos Cave, is well known for its magnificent stalactites and stalagmites. The second cave, called Hansen Cave, is notable for its beautiful calcite formations. And the third cave, called Middle Cave, features stunning helictites.
