The Navajo Nation’s Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park is one of the most majestic – and most photographed – points on earth. This great valley boasts sandstone masterpieces that tower at heights of 400 to 1,000 feet, surrounded by a vast panorama of mesas, buttes, and windswept sands. The park spans more than 91,000 acres that were once a lowland basin. Wind and water eroded the land over 50 million years, revealing what you see today. The vibrant hues of the terrain, accentuated by shrubs and trees, create a magnificent spectacle that captivates visitors, making every moment in Monument Valley an awe-inspiring adventure.

After scouring the gravel & dirt roads of Hiawatha NF for over an hour, we found a perfect spot next to a creek. We searched so you don't have to!

Hiawatha National Forest, named after the legendary Native American figure, is a stunning natural gem in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, covering approximately 880,000 acres of diverse wilderness. According to the oral tradition of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) people, Hiawatha is often depicted as a wise and influential leader who helped unite the five nations—the Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, and Seneca—into a powerful alliance. One of the notable features of Hiawatha National Forest is its vast network of trails, allowing visitors to explore the area's pristine rivers, numerous waterfalls, and stunning shorelines on foot, bike, or horseback. The forest nestles up against the coastlines of Lakes Superior, Huron and Michigan, and features six historic Michigan lighthouses. The forest is also home to a rich variety of wildlife, including white-tailed deer, black bears, bald eagles, and numerous bird species. There are excellent opportunities for camping, fishing, boating, and hunting. And with its abundant snowfall, the forest becomes a haven for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling.

Carson National Forest, located in northern New Mexico, is a pristine natural haven of 1.5 million acres of rugged mountains, lush forests, and alpine meadows. This area is the ancestral homeland of several Indigenous peoples including the Taos Pueblo, Picuris Pueblo, Jicarilla Apache, and others. Today it offers a wealth of recreational opportunities, including hiking, camping, and wildlife viewing. The forest is home to iconic peaks like Wheeler Peak, New Mexico's highest point. With its rich biodiversity, scenic beauty, and a variety of ecosystems, Carson National Forest stands as a cherished destination for those seeking solace and adventure in the heart of the Southwest.
