Why go there?

An easy drive from New Orleans or Baton Rouge, Tickfaw State Park is a fantastic place to camp, fish or hike along boardwalks that will take you through four different ecosystems. It's a fantastic place to encounter wildlife, from American alligators and armadillos to white-tailed deer and beavers. The park has 14 cabins and 50 campsites, if you want to get on the water there are canoes for rent.
