The park is only accessible by plane or by foot, and there are no roads or trails within its boundaries. However, those who make the effort to visit Gates of the Arctic are rewarded with breathtaking views of some of the most untouched natural beauty in the world. Glaciers have carved deep valleys into the landscape, and wild rivers flow through them. The endless summer light fades into aurora-lit night skies in winter. Gates of the Arctic remains virtually unchanged except by the forces of nature.
