NatureBridge connects young people to the wonder and science of the natural world through overnight, hands-on environmental science programs.

The Golden Gate National Recreation Area is one of the most diverse parks in the United States, supporting 19 different ecosystems and home to over 2,000 plant and animal species. Visitors can enjoy hiking, picnicking, and breathtaking vistas, as well as learn about the rich history of the area - not to mention taking a tour of the notorious Alcatraz prison. The area has been inhabited for centuries by California's indigenous peoples, followed by Spanish colonists, Mexicans, and the US military. San Francisco Bay Area has grown into one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the country. Today, the Golden Gate National Recreation Area is a cherished spot for locals and visitors alike, offering a wide range of activities and attractions for all to enjoy.

Not just a great valley, but a shrine to human foresight, the strength of granite, the power of glaciers, the persistence of life, and the tranquility of the High Sierra. First protected in 1864, Yosemite National Park is best known for its waterfalls, but within its nearly 1,200 square miles, you can find deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area, and much more.

With its incredible range of precipitation and elevation, diversity is the hallmark of Olympic National Park. Encompassing nearly a million acres, the park protects a vast wilderness, thousands of years of human history, and several distinctly different ecosystems, including glacier-capped mountains, old-growth temperate rain forests, and over 70 miles of wild coastline.

NatureBridge is an environmental science education program. 5th to 7th graders spend three days in Prince William Forest National Park. 

Prince William Forest Park is a serene oasis in northern Virginia, located adjacent to the Marine Corps Base Quantico. It is the largest example of Eastern Piedmont forest in the National Park System. Established in 1936 as Chopawamsic Recreation Area, and developed by the Works Progress Administration, it served as a refuge for children's "relief" camps during the Great Depression. From 1942-45, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the precursor to the CIA, converted the sleepy summer camps into a secret training area. For four years, thousands went there to learn the art of spying. Today it offers 37 miles of hiking trails, 21 miles of biking trails and roads, campsites, and abundant wildlife.
